Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It’s not the work, it’s how you make the boss feel about themselves. That’s how you play the game.

There I said it

Don't ever call them boss. They like to be called boss and they become more arrogant.

Yeah, so many big egos here. Fragile sense of self= weakness to flattery. Low IQ.

Being someone who is generally liked is really useful in life, period and it’s no effort to be kind. Sorry the bottom dwellers posting here find that to be challenging

Being "nice" to everyone and kissing everyone's a..s is the game. Even still my career at Wells was not successful. In 7 years I had 6 managers. Only one of those managers had a stinky a..s.
Wells was unique in that the number of being on "new" tech projects was smaller. Most of it was maintenance (to mvc/.net, to cloud).
Another lesson is to keep piping your ho-n. Surprising how many people take credit after copying your work.
By the way doing the reverse of "managing up" works great if quietly quitting.

This is a fact. I've made a pretty lucrative career doing this

This is the real deal here. As much as it makes my stomach churn, it’s just the truth. Game on!

It’s called managing up. Oldest game in the book to play and if you’re good at it you’ll make out or even move up.
