Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Layoffs vs people on Visa

How does the layoffs affect people on visa? Intel has a lot of immigrants. Most of them own houses and rental properties. Does Intel look at your immigration status before involuntary CPM?

H-1Bs should always go first . But I’d be floored if they actually did.

I'm with HR and we specifically target employees on a work VISA. We have found that they are most often Indian, and have lower performance than any other group.

No it's not considered. Only thing that matters is how brown your nose is with immediate management.

Owns houses and rental properties. I thought compensation at Intel was so horrible that people could barely live on it. I guess it’s not so bad after all.

Who cares.
The US is way past full and in debt up to its eyeballs.
You made a bad choice going to work for Intel.
