Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

No layoffs necessary in Risk, everyone will just leave

It is like a daily farewell to teammates. What is happening in this org? Is it the abysmal leadership?

So what risk team are we talking about? Looking at a lateral position in GRA, and hearing that the recent growth and MD hires are wreaking organizational havoc...what's the culture / mgmt like, are people generally "happy" ?? At a stage in my career where I do not have the appetite to manage up.

SPG is definitely Sarah Gordon. I think she runs regulatory relations now. Never been in her org but know several who have and they say it is awful. Dreadful to work for no matter your level there is no hiding the wrath. No idea who MW is. Risk is a hit or miss.

Who is SFG and MW? I am interviewing in risk and refuse to get tangled in a toxic situation.

@1gqn+1tj9WzZg I feel you. SFG drove me into therapy and MW couldn't hold back from throwing everyone under the bus and then backing it up over you one more time. I'm on the other side and out of it now and not looking back.

Poster is right it is not a new problem. Watched this cycle now for a while and have tried to strategically move myself away from certain managers and leaders. It won't change until it is top down.

Unfortunately this is not a new problem in risk. I have been here a long time and watched the rise and fall of many. Leaders have been moved around and even promoted that should not be people leaders. Take SFG for instance. She ki-led morale on her teams and pushed so many good people out yet continues on. Other leaders, while good people leaders, are over their skis which leads to the same result. But they are in the circle and we are not so staff pays the price.

Yup, they won’t punish the individuals with a workload of 2 hours they will punish the overworked ones. Those people will stay with the company YEARS because they are set. You ask why people are leaving? That’s exactly why, the company not doing squat about people who put in the bare minimum and instead torment the ones who are being overworked. They ride the same horse to its death.

People that use we-ponized incompetence to work themselves out of a role, yet continue to draw a large salary while they sit ‘on the bench’ because management is too chicken to deal with it.
Now that’s a morale booster for the rest of the team picking up the slack. No wonder so many are leaving…

Agree. There is no consistency in management. We have people taking salary and only putting a few hours a day. These are not managers either. People napping on the floor. Seen this many times. People with only the workload of about two hours. Got that too. Lack of communication.
It is an embarrassment how this place is now.

what’s happening is they won’t pay to layoff, so they are transferring them to roles they hate so they can drop on their own. then you have and know of coworkers who are willingly stealing company time by using mouse jugglers connected to their outlets so the company doesn’t pick it up, who barely have a workload and are taking naps during the day. so the morale is on the floor, the company loves to promote mediocracy and overwork people who actually work. eventually driving them out because what else can you do?
