Community service hours

How does it work? If we use 4 hours doing some cleanup outdoors, do we have to have proof submitted? Or basically tell our boss and add it in Workday, that’s it

You do get credit for an in-office day when you volunteer. You need to request the time off in Workday, and your manager approves the Workday request. I have never had a problem with this, and I have never been asked to provide details about the activity or any proof of volunteering. Maybe some managers are different, though. I personally have never treated this time as PTO. I enjoy volunteer activities and would much rather spend my day volunteering than sitting in the office.

The important question is do I get a day’s credit for RTO attendance?

Community service hours. How does it work?
Well, when you get sentenced, they give you a total hours of service you need to complete. So, once that is done, your done unless there are other stipulations that need to be met by you.
Hope this helps.

Your manager has to approve it on workday. They don’t have you document what you are doing anymore . I assume you don’t mean cleanup outdoors at your own home but true community service. That’s all good & encouraged. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that use it as extra vacation days. I agree with the other poster to be sure about it being community service of some sort. They are watching everything we do anymore.

if you submit volunteer time in workday it will require a managers approval, unlike PTO in most cases which doesn't.

No proof needed. Some groups send a report back to WF with a list of who volunteered.

Does the manager have to approve it in workday? Or you’re saying verbally approves it?

As long as your manager approves it. I wouldn't try to play games with it though. Not worth it, think mouse jigglers
