Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Losing contractors?

My team is mainly made up of contractors. I, along with one other person, have a blue badge. I've heard rumors that contractors will be cut. Am I about to lose my team? We were already short handed.

Can confirm. I lose all my red badges in q1. And no backfills or additional headcount to take on the workload they leave behind.

Why cant the blue badge engineers from CX are mobilized into your group and replace the red badge. Hundreds of CX blue badges sitting with no work more than a month. Engineering directors and mangers are cutting high salaries for doing nothing. In other groups red badge to blue badge conversion happens and rest interview process is a show off. HR is well aware and do nothing

where I work (EMEA) this is reality. A red badge employee was notified this week he is done at end of quarter. According to the manager this is happening for all red badges in the country

Cisco will need to get creative as you can't keep restructuring the company every 6 months and have the markets believe there is any stability. The numbers don't lie.

Everyone trashing the older people that have put in more time and effort than the younger ICs ever will. I will say there are some people with 15-20 years that should really be worried about the complaining and having the same attitude as younger ICs. It makes the potential pool of LR candidates larger. Don't do it. All things being equal I would keep the veteran but the attitudes put that person where they become a detriment to the team.

I heard Liz picked up some, like fo-e real, certified unicorns in Vegas. They’re going to take care of everything with their hooves and rainbow farts. No more over working, no Morse burn out and everyone gets to keep their jobs. It’s gonna be magic!

Not really, my team cut blue badge older folks first. Even not need to cut, we let go old folks. Not in one shut, every half year let go 1 or 2.

Management gaslight workers into being grateful for having a job. Don’t fall for it.
