Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Does anyone else do this?

  1. Show up to the office late, 9:30-10am and leave by lunch time 3 days per week to get their swipes in
  2. Pretend to be at capacity with workload but only working 2 hours daily or less
  3. Keep to yourself so no one bothers you about helping out with additional work
  4. Never ask for additional work or exceed deadlines, just make sure things are done and submitted on the day they are due

These past few months have been very slow for me because of the above. It’s great that you can do all of this and get paid $80,000 a year to just cruise by. If you want to do this just make sure you keep up to date with trainings, performance stuff (mid years, etc)… pretty easy to get by with minor work this way.

No one does this. People come to work 8 to 5 daily or else they will be bombarded by a deluge of "Letters of Education" for workplace excellence.

Happens a lot. People claim to come in at 6:00 am but aren’t doing anything for hours, do as little work as required, nap, make personal cellphone calls during webex calls, nap again, eat lunch, nap, another phone call, pretend to do work, then leave at 2:30/3:00.
And they are NOT logging in from home to offset the time they are not in the office.
And these people are salary. So on average come in and show their face for about 5 hours, then leave.
And its not one or two people, in our area, it’s a ghost town by 3:00. Good luck if something urgent comes up.
But that’s the new way to work part time for full time pay.

It is happening I know one in cybersecurity that hardly goes in her 3 days and never works a full 8 hr shift. Must be nice to get by with it.

It's one thing to start working from home in the mornings and drive to the office after traffic dies down, then leave early afternoon to beat the traffic and log in again from home to finish out the day....still getting in your 8 hours/day. But to say that anyone is not even working and just going shopping is ludicrous. I do like to have the autonomy to get my days/hours in at the office when it works best for my meeting schedule but I would never be as dishonest as the OP and I don't think there are many at all doing that.

I do this and less.

(but then again, I did this my entire career here. I show up and then leave to shop all day plus a 3 hour lunch. Then, return with my shopping bags, wink at the cubicle people glaring at me, and leave early.)

35 year career here, Plenty of raises and bonuses.

It works.

Don't let HR scare you. Just flatter your manager and make them look good.

I sit in my cubicle discriminating against certain top performers on my team all day just because my boss told me to! Now I hide in here all day eating these potato chips waiting for my smart watch to notify me of the next meeting or call from the boss man himself. What have I done constructive? Got rid of a few bad apples and handed out a few 2% raises, now back "crunch" time! potato chip eating noise Pretty much my typical management day here at the Bank! Been in the biz a long time, so I know what I'm doing! Looking forward to reviewing your policy notice policy violation warning reminder coaching with you at mid year check in!

Always stay 4-6 hours otherwise the trip feels like a waste.

Nope but for those who do that are stupid as he-l to think that bank isn't watching. It's being monitored because folks continue to talk about short cuts on this site and don't even realize that everything we put on here is being looked at by some employees whose job is to monitor the internet activities on comments about the bank. Going into the office 3 times a week is not asking for much where some of us have no choice but to be in 5 days a week. So 3 days a week should be in the office for their full work shift.

I do not do it, but I know a couple of people that do. They are going to ruin it for the ones that follow the rules.

That’s pathetic. There is something called a work ethic. Your employer may not know you are doing this but you do. How do you live with yourself NOT doing the right thing? Kharma will catch up. I know the bank doesn’t care much either but two wrongs don’t make things right. Do the right thing for yourself and your integrity.

Nope nobody does this we all happily come in 5 days a week and do the most work possible. You must have meant to post this in the Wells section. Nothing but sunshine and productivity here at BofA!
