I remember him talking about moving from spaghetti code to lasagna, do not remember the soup comments.

SVB will sing the praises of the plague he set upon Tech by promoting that loser T. Kerrins . He will try to put lipstick on it but no matter how much lipstick he smears, it’s still a T. Kerrins.

Former Tech Gal here, who got a layoff.

When SVB was first hired, he used to always say, “We’re making soup here” in reference to whatever the tech issue de jour was at the moment.

Thing is, my dad used to always say, “You can’t make chicken soup out of chicken sh-t”. That story went viral internally, and pretty soon everyone was laughing at Saul whenever he said “we’re making soup” - and he said that a LOT.

Word got around to him what was going on. He stopped talking about “soup”.

Just a bit of WF history from behind the scenes.

Will he dance like TK? And look ridiculous as he tries to culturally appropriate their customs?

It is a little shocking a core location isn't in Seattle for a place like IT. That's an IT haven, especially in Bellevue. You'd think with Charlie being on the board of Microsoft would have weighed on that decision.

The other shocker is that there's nothing in the entire state of FL

Hahaha...the "CS-SP Axis of Evil." Great description!

SP really is an evil POS. No one likes that guy, and for good reason. COO is always at the top of the list for layoffs too. The day he leaves WF will be a good one.

SP cried to CS and neutered SvB. SvB wanted to expand the tech footprint into the PNW. His plan was to be able to recruit tech talent across the country, not concentrated into a few core locations.

Indeed, it would be a better place if someone like him were at the top and free to soar. Unfortunately, he is in the same boat; and the Great White is circling around and just loves the smell of fear.

Yeah, when he first came to WF, SvB was something of a rogue, approving WFH exceptions to seemingly anyone that asked. Naturally Shart found this unacceptable and it was made clear to SvB that he'd either get with the program or get downsized himself. Since he has aspirations of being CEO himself at some point, he relented (or cucked out depending on your perspective). In any event, his early behavior suggests he'd be an infinitely superior CEO if he was allowed to be himself, so I hope that someday he makes it before he's truly too corrupted by the Shart / SP axis of evil.

Probably not much. He'll sip some coffee and go have diarrhea.

I can’t stand Saul! I liked him when he started in TEC… then he showed his true colors that he’s no better than any other exec at HY. Truly a disappointment.
If I had to hear another story about his and Linda’s vacation…I thought I was going to vomit.

Prediction: SVB will wear long jacket and maybe a turban.

There will be many PR pictures of SVB's visit and many praises of "teamwork" and "expertise," oh, and "collaboration."

Note: When in US, executives must praise only "In-person collaboration," -- you know those "impromptu hallway discussions at the water cooler" that magically lead to earth-shattering, profit-boosting INSIGHTS and INNOVATIONS.

The US team will have an early and a fantastic thanksgiving this year. They should start praying for their fellow turkeys.
