Thread regarding Ford layoffs

So, we are safe this week?

It was just scaremongering.

I am an old salary white guy and pro union. I would join organizing efforts to unionize salary. I have posted on this site before about how cuts have hit salary benefits due to no representation. How do we get this started?

“Most of the Ford shareholders I've spoken with…”

Perhaps many people don’t know this, but Ford is such an old company that they have 2 “classes” of stock. I don’t know how they get away with this. Perhaps it was grandfathered in when they wrote the “new” regulations.

The common stock, the “Class-A” stock is powerless. I don’t really know what intrinsic value it has. Elon Musk could buy it all up and still not control the company.

The “Class-B” stock is the controlling stock and that is held only by Ford family members. Ford is essentially a private company. With powerless common stock.

Mass layoffs in the months before a major election would look very bad for the current administration.

What side do you think Ford’s Class-B stockholders are rooting for?

Because of this, I think the monied elite will do everything they can to avoid the bad press until the second week of November.

Salary staff will never unionize. It is mostly conservative old white men. Who are in denial and in shock that the wealth isn't trickling down to them.

A union would help protect their jobs but they've been convinced by their political daddies that unions are bad.

So they'll keep voting against unions. And keep posting here about how much they dread layoffs.

It's sad, really.

Replying to @1lcr+1tlk98HF

I was thinking, maybe Ford is afraid of their salaried staff unionizing so they want to replace them with people scared to deàth to try.

Gotta love all the external postings Ford is pumping out yet won’t promote from within. They will pump and dump talent to the lowest common denominator until their brand tanks with increasingly unreliable products.
