So the new direction of our leadership is to tell the customer that we know you don't want this but take it anyway?
It's almost like they're completely out of touch.

Fartley is a complete mo--n, he thinks they can tell the US market to change their habits 😑. No dude, the US was developed around driving and the ability to drive anywhere. The consumers will switch to other brands that will meet their needs and lifestyle. They continue to tell us that EVs are the future, but that's obviously not the truth. Do they think that if they keep repeating the same sh-t that it will magically happen? What happened to "fully autonomous by 2022(or whatever)"?, oh that's right, it didn't happen. Get rid of Farley. Have the next CEO and leaders actually talk to customers and their employees.
So it’s the customers who are the id--ts for not buying his expensive EVs while he sends jobs overseas to help bring the cost of EVs Down. What’s the old saying cut off your nose to spite your face. Farley is a 🤡🤡🤡 and Bill is a bigger 🤡🤡🤡 for keeping him as CEO.
@OP not almost.. they ARE!!!
@2bli: Your comments remind me of a tone-deaf comment from a GM senior exec in the mid-1950s. When asked about affordability, he said, "America has all the low-cost transportation it needs. We call them used cars." Within a few years, the Big 3 had lost so much volume to the VW Beetle that all three introduced more affordable compact cars -- the Chevrolet Corvair, Ford Falcon, and Plymouth Valiant/Dodge Dart twins.
It will be interesting to see if the leadership teams at the Detroit Three are as wise as their predecessors of sixty-some years ago.
If battery materials are so precious, you can build one Lighting or 10 Hybrid Mavericks... From a dealers perspective volume is always better. Economies of scale for the OEM.
Farley is a tool...
Houses are no longer affordable for most people in this country.
If you don't own a home already, you likely won't be able to.
One step from
“You will own nothing and be happy…”
It has been said many times on this forum.
Our products will be purchased by young, affluent, tech savvy, people. This customer segment demands the highest quality.
We will continue some of our higher end products while our older customer segment ages and has money to spend.
We will sell fewer vehicles but will make higher profit on the vehicles we sell.
We will sell some low end F150s, like the XL, to fleets. We make a significant amount of money with fleet sales.
Most of the country will buy our products from our pre-owned dealer network. They will aspire to purchase a new vehicle some day. Until then, they will be happy with the used market.
Let the foreign OEMs sell small inexpensive sedans.
In addition Billy and Jimmy are sending all the jobs out of the US.
Who's going to purchase Ford product?
Farley is a fool. Ford will be out of business in 5 years if he sticks around. No cr-p the batteries are too expensive. What did he think they would magically drop when his precious Mach e came out. He is as d-mb as a box of rocks. Just make reliable affordable simple ICE vehicles. Go Toyota. At least they aren’t trying to force their customers to drink the EV kool aid.
Everything that fartley and billo touch turns to sh!t
Compete with Korean cars- didn’t work
Mach e - never been profitable
F150 lightning “the most important launch of my lifetime “ Billy
Subscription revenue - peanuts
Rivian investment - messed the exit and lost out
This is the new next sh!te - small low cost evs
"He will immediately outlaw unions - except for our precious police unions - and force the UAW to return to their lower wages."
at least get some good propaganda
why would he need to do that
the current/past corrupt government just brought in a ton of immigrants which guess what lower wages and make american citizens disposable - job already done
No need to go overboard. The UAW did deserve some increase. It's not the UAW that blew billions on the EV debacle and train station. There has to be checks and balances. At least the production workers are core business, not like Billy, Farley and the BOD's that are bankrupting the company. We have to keep things in perspective.
Don't you worry. When our true president takes the office back, things will return to normal.
He will immediately outlaw unions - except for our precious police unions - and force the UAW to return to their lower wages.
Then Ford will not need to send office jobs overseas.
Farley is smart enough to be in Joe Biden‘s cabinet.
Again, he thinks he's freaking Elon Musk.
These "geniuses" think that by providing an inferior product and doing hand-waving, people will buy it. Only when you make a superior product will people buy it. Honda. Toyota. Old Nissan. (Not sure about New Nissan yet). The way. Lessons of 1973 still not learned in Detroit. Back to dojo, Farley-san.
Ford did the same thing when they came out with an EV car and called it a Mustang. Now the whole world can drive a "real" Mustang.
American automakers have always (atleast going back to mid 20th century) had the arrogant thinking of ‘we’ll tell the customer what to buy and they’ll like it.’ Has failed every time.
Farley needs to go. He’s a damn id--t and will bankrupt Ford.
“ CEO Jim Farley emphasizes that American buyers are going to have to make a sacrifice and break an automotive addiction that may seem un-American for the sake of the automobile industry's future”.
Uh, no. I will buy competitor products then. The consumer drives the demand dummy.
