Maybe it was a digital tech who drives a transit van. Some managers gave their DT’s transits. The DT wasn’t speeding.

Wire tech was late for an install and was high on fentanyl and speeded. Wage scale 32 won’t speed

One needs to watch out for traffic cops. They have a badge, g-n and authority, but they ain't the brightest. Unfortunately the bar to be in law enforcement is in the dirt.

Tech would have been fired if he was going 44 in a 45. This is AT&T. The only answer to the question during the "investigation" would be "What would had done differently?" The only correct answer is " I would have called in sick and not been on duty today".

Probably going 50 in a 45. Cop jumped out "Respect mah Authority!!!!" and received percussive therapy. Su-ks for the Prem tech. Su-ks for the Cop and his lower leg bones. The Houston PD might want to reconsider their traffic revenue model going forward.

Wearing a uniform and badge doesn’t make one impervious to accidents. The officer and the HPD, needs to be trained on the proper and safe way to interdict vehicles. As previous posts stated, stupidity for an alleged misdemeanor.

In my days (pre-Stankey) there’s was no job too urgent, too important to not be done safely. Me thinks the “Move Faster” mantra impaired the driver’s judgment. Let get rid of stank and prevent these accidents.

Should read; Due to officer stupidity an accident occurred, they stepped into the road with oncoming traffic and used their body to stop a vehicle for an alleged speeding violation.

The result is the HPD will change their policy on such stupidity and use common sense in the future. Hiding to shoot radar then, stepping out into traffic to stop a vehicle, isn’t very bright. Hopefully the officer wasn’t seriously injured and will learn from this incident.

In the driver's defense, he was probably drunk.
