Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Winston Salem , Assigned, workspace, and parking

WEC. if there’s so many senior people that have been affected by the location strategy how come there’s no A Lot or B Lot parking or assigned workspaces anymore with so many empty cubes around🤔

I've noticed the parking lots filling up more and more over the past 6 weeks. I park the rear and the lot name escapes me. Yesterday there were 4 empty slots when I rolled out during lunch. Is the 4th floor IT related now? I can't say what the people do but the lot is access controlled and you have to swipe to get in. I'm not sure who the population basement are next to the cafeteria. They went to the expense to adding doors and access control and people showed up to fill it.

@vrw I agree with @2yew: in a few meetings I have been in, WEC was clearly slated to no longer be a WF data center by Q1, 2025. Where did you hear the 2028 date??? You are correct on one thing: the place will be more of a ghost town than it is now come Q1.

Given WEC has a "by early 2025" timeline to have all server functions migrated, don't spread a rumor that the building will still be a WF building for the next 3 years.

Wait...I want what YOU are smoking ;)

This is a reasonable observation. The waiting list for ideal parking is long so it makes sense not to thin out - then again, maybe it will by the end of September as the 100% folks come into the office - some for the first time.

Wait list in A and B move quickly
You don’t need assigned places. Everyone sits in same place everyday no issues

WEC still has a lot of remote employees. In the wisdom of our dear leaders, remote exceptions are being canceled in waves knowing that many will be laid off by location strategy. But the point is to inflict pain hoping more quit of their own to save money.

WEC was thrown a temporary lifeline as it was decided to shut down the core data centers before the regional data centers. So WEC will still existed until late 2028. Though many jobs will be eliminated between now and then.
