Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Maybe, I dunno, build a descent network.

T loves to talk the connectivity talk, but it’s a lot of hot air. Neighbors admiring the Verizon speeds, even the Xfinity Mobile guys got better coverage. Hire techs who can do the Ohms and Hertz. It’s embarrassing to work here. Walk the walk!! We’re the Dollar General of Networks.

You prove your ignorance with this rant. AT&T doesn’t pay them to perform the testing. AT&T, VZW, TMO all pay root metrics etc for the results of the testing. None of the carriers control anything about the testing. You clearly don’t know squat “ Get a load of this Jack Hole: “AT&T wireless network continually outscores T Mobile in competitive testing. Network reliability and footprint continually beats T Mobile and I many cases VZ. You clearly have zero knowledge or understanding of the network and are simply speaking out of your uninformed behind.” Does this guy know who pays the people who conduct the tests?!?! AT&T pays them to test the network. Every wonder how AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile all win “Best”, “Fastest”, “Most Reliable”, “Fewest Drop Call” every quarter? Because they all pay JD Powers. It’s all a marketing ploy. Its rigged. AT&T is good in rural (where no one lives). Verizon is rock solid in their footprint (but lacks in our footprint because our backbone is aging because Susan Johnson is running it into the ground). T-Mobile is fastest in Urban because they have the most spectrum (and use unlicensed spectrum as well). Do some homework you YES MAN”

I take exception to this, as our network performance has been steadily descending for a good decade now; we even throw in the occasional news making outage for extra credit.
We have the best descend network there is.

"Descent" network?

AT&T did build a "descent" network.

It's always going down.

I'd prefer that they build a DECENT network.

ATT wireless su-ks. Even accounting for all of the places that we know it does work, the biggest issue I see with Att wireless is that it doesn’t work in a lot of places where they claim it does. Minuscule amount of places in my area where ATT works & the other 2 don’t.

I'm just embarrassing in general. Not many accomplishments or skills. Only thing going for me is to complain about the company and management.

T has made some incredibly bad acquisitions plus the T-Mobile debacle. YES
Layoffs will continue. YES
RTO and Relocation is very unfortunate, perhaps "unfair" for many. YES
T has a lot of debt. YES
T is a capital-intensive and slow growth business. YES
Many (most?) employees have had a long run on the T Gravy Train. YES
T is broke and/or near bankruptcy. Total BS, and it shows the widespread ignorance of bitter folks. Highly profitable; still generates a ton of cash. T will be around for a long time.

I’m on T-Mobile. Cheaper than our employee discount and I get better coverage. Plus, I love to play the t-mobile ringtone in the office on people’s conf calls.

Customers ask me this every day … iPhone shows 4 bars, 5G+ icon and Safari says “Safari is unable to complete this request because the connection is lost.” I tell them it’s on Apple’s side and then tell them I’m on break and hide in the back room.

Unfortunately it’s too late. No money and competition already doing it for years. T is doomed.
