My whole team got the boot. COO organization. I was off yesterday but one of my teammates called me when it happened. I had calls from my manager that I ignored and saw his frantic emails but just enjoyed the day. This morning I sent an email from my personal email to my boss and the rest of the team asking if anyone else could not get into the system this morning. What a hoot. My boss called me again at 7:20 am this morning which I am ignoring for now. I have never talked to this guy before 9:00 in the morning for 7 years.

Wells Fargo has reduced its Wealth Management division in Winston-Salem, NC. They have dismissed all but one member of their NWAT (National Wire Team). The way this was handled was considered to be unfeeling. The associate who trained all of the dismissed team members was also released. I noticed the signs of this layoff coming for me, but not for him.

For the past few months, we have been training 10-15 other associates from the Philippines to take our places.

I think this is the quietest this board has ever been on a layoff Tuesday. Maybe fewer layoffs due to the holiday? Or maybe people just don't rush to layoff boards after receiving the news, lol.

Tech Connect/MyIT are not animals that need behavioral training. It's a thankless job being an enterprise help desk agent. There's the insane call volume, the wide swath of issues and high turnover that make it impossible to be knowledgeable in anything. Once we do grasp something, not soon after a team name changes or is now defunct, a utility is eliminated, URLs change, etc.

We do have knowledge base sites and other related content to help, but many processes and data within requires constant upkeep with input from downstream partners. Those teams have to volunteer out of the kindness of their hearts to take time from their own distracting personal h-ll to dive into the whole process in itself to get engagement and update support processes as needed.

We can solve this through a strong HR, to help teams like MyIT manage constant adversity. Reward individuals for simple and efficient process design work and acknowledge those achievements on the Tech Teamworks page. Process engineering is tantamount above all else and can only be successful through incentivizing employees (motivate by money, promotion, opportunity).

Until that happens, we are serving sloppy joes for every meal, sweeping sand at the beach, swatting at mosquitos in Mosquito-ville, honking our horns in backed up traffic, repeatedly pushing elevator buttons and looking online for other phrases that describe the quicksand and eddies that are encroaching ever more closely on our daily existence here at the bank.

I can only hope I finally get the lucky # … I saw something months ago with 7/09 being ‘the event date’ noted approved by 2 up and HR but will it impact me? or others? or no one? hmmm hate this

When’s the tech connect going to get impacted? For real, the last few agents I talked do did not help or have any clue about anything. And they told me they haven’t been required to come in the office yet. They have so many problems and they aren’t able to help. Maybe them coming into the office will address some of these behaviors
