Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Fired

Manager called me in the break room this morning and gave me the boot for performance. Had me work MOST of the day could’ve just told me when i arrived at 6 am. Best thing she ever did since becoming the manager. Make sure you’re meeting ALL the metrics if you’re in a call center. Sayonara!

This is the new norm at all of the sites that are closing. Wells Fargo doesn't want to pay severance. If you don't quit, you'll likely be fired.

I'd suggest just forming a union so they close the site. That way you'll at least get your severance.

You can still file for UE. Just state your case in the description. They know all about the company & their tactics. My opinion. Did you get a warning? Write ups? Opportunity to correct your "performance"? You're supposed to get all these before a "firing". Did you work in a hostile environment?

I do have my facts straight. Read the handbook newbie. If you are fired for any reason, including performance = No Severance. I didn’t say anything about unemployment benefits so not exactly sure what you are smoking.

@1ssr+1tpGlLFU, you are incorrect. OP is entitled to severance, as well as unemployment. Please get your facts straight.

Fired for performance means no severance. Did you challenge this?

Clearly you've never been a manager and don't know that many. Executives may enjoy it, no one else does.

That is terrible! I am so sorry they let you go. Make sure and get in touch with your state's unemployment office. You need to draw unemployment from Wells. A long time ago the unemployment office used to have job listings for different companies. Check and see if they still offer that. Thinking of you.

OP were you on a PIP? What was the reason given for termination?

Sorry you had to go through that. Be glad you are free of this place. Onwards & upwards. When I resigned a contract role at WF due to an immutable toxic environment, the inexperienced & unethical hiring manager had me write up my entire role/tasks & then cut the contract THAT day & walked me out. I later found out she did it to make herself be the "person in power" & humiliate me. She's still at the bank as far as I know. You're too good for these people. Good luck finding your new role.

This is so vile and revolting, I am sorry you had to endure that, consider yourself free from the shackles of control fear mongering bully corporation. When one door closes, another opens, good luck OP.

Managers actually love to tease employees when they give the pink slip to their employees. They feel powerful.
