Is Code42 Incydr installed a sign of LR?

Today I've noted that I had an app called Code42 Incydr Agent installed on my laptop around a month ago - June 2024). It's an app monitoring data leaks from employees. Is this an indication that I might be on an LR list or does everyone have it pre installed?

Code42 is monitoring you for IP "leakage". Basically, it keeps track of all the documents you touch.
The other thing they have started to do is to "flag" all the documents you touch (even if you don't edit them) to claim Cisco "Copyright" over them, and set a security level for protection (Cisco Confidential is the default). A change not well advertised, but just check any documents and you'll see it's had tokens written to it to claim ownership.
Best place to work, so trusting, so transparent.

That is not the one. You will know a few days before you are about to be notified, my PC acted strange and did a number of reboots the Monday before being notified back in February. That pretty much let me know for sure I was on the list, I kind of knew a week or so before as I am in my 50's and made a bit above the average in my job grade so was ripe for the ageism. When the list who was let go in my VP's structure came out voila...all >than 46 yo.

I don't think. Code42 is a back-up App. LR and Apps as no relation as my understanding.

Code42 does way more than just backup. I believe it's doing app monitoring for license compliance, among other things. Code42 advertises itself as an Insider Risk Detection and Threat Management solution.

But, IT used to install Digital Guardian when you were added to the LR list or part of a BU being sold off in order to monitor your activities. Things monitored were downloading s/w repositories, especially ones you hadn't accessed before, and transferring data to removable media.

Former admin of code42 here. Cisco sounds like they got the incydr module/function on the code42 agent at some point. The agent now has two functions backup and DLP "lite". I looked and I have it on my machine as well. It doesn't look like it's correlated to being laid off.

Install your own app to monitor Cisco IT activities. Don’t let them mess up with your sleep.
