Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

We live on

As the dust settles after today’s layoffs, it’s opportuone moment to reflect on critical nature of our role in the risk fucntion. I can’t help but notice that those of us who are still here have consistently demonstrated our commitment to cheerleading behind RCSA. I must admit, seeing some desks suddenly empty did feel a bit odd. But then again, it’s just another sign that it is far more important to document challenges in the risk function than operating controls in a LOB. To some outside risk, the real issue might seem like everyone at wells is looking after ‘the business’ while no really gives a fingur about doing ‘the business’ but big picture truth is far from this because this is aleady a known issue and already documented with manual controls that can be operated by a single long finger and that makes it all okay. Yes, we/wells/business will prevail.

Ba ha ha ha ha! OMG I needed this laugh. As someone who was laid off in Risk last month with people in critical positions also laid off due to location along with the knowledge some of the most critical functions (an investigations group for one) are being sent to India.... not a chance RCSA will save anyone no matter your level of involvement with it. ALL Wells cares about doing is cutting expenses by eliminating people/jobs or sending them to India and reducing the US staff to core/growth markets only. That's it. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a reality check.

In a nutshell, I think the OP is trying to say that more effort is being made to document controls, rather than doing the work itself. A lot of time is spent on RCSA, and creating controls, and then documenting the controls, and then giving people that the creating processes to make sure the controls are being done. You get to a point where more time is being spent on all of that, rather than the actual work to get things done, and make the business run more efficiently.

I think the OP is quite right. The inequities in Wells run quite high. The productive to non- productive staff ratio remains low. As a result, most people have time to rant .

This post is embarrassing. Why hasn't OP been laid off yet?

If by "we" you mean I&P and Hudson Yards, and by "prevail" you mean downsizing all of us, then yes, good call OP.

What you said above is one of the most insanely id--tic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent statement were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this site is now d-mber for having read it.
