Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoffs at Barnhart center Hillsboro, OR

I heard of 2 people who were laid off from Barnhart center in the estate care center under operations. Anyone else?

I’m not even anxious about getting laid off. I’m just anxious at the fact that we don’t know when we’re going to be laid off which I think is a horrible way of doing things. because a lot of us need to plan especially if it comes down to needing childcare so we can come into work and return our stuff. I may be impatient and I don’t like waiting but this is just getting ridiculous. We all know the barn is closing so just let downstairs know when you’re gonna lay us off. That’s all we ask

99% of the people in the Barn will be downsized with no option for even a self relo. I don't know the exact timing, but start saving and looking now. Most importantly, don't let the little S off the hook. Severance or death.

This is honestly to d-mb. What are they waiting for here at the barn. Are we actually getting the boot or is this all an act to see who quits. Someone has to know something and yet it’s like a big secret. Please someone when do you think it’s going to happen because this is just is just stupid.

Hines owns the Barn.

Voting to form a union in the Barn and being very public about it would be a good way to make the trash in the ivory tower squirm. No real downside either since everyone is getting downsized either way.

They are trying to get you to quit. They don't want to pay you severance, that would make the share holders cry. Your best bet is to form a union so that they will close the site and pay your severance. If you don't, then you will eventually get fired for something and wont get your severance. They need the head count lower before they close the site.

I can assure you that your CEO is telling upper management to lower the head count any way possible(even illegally).

Don't expect a company like Wells Fargo to go about closing down a bunch of sites in some legal humane way.

I think anyone below executive or director level legit has no clue. Like managers are trained on how to deal with layoffs, but they don't know the timing until it's going down.

Anyone have an idea of when disputes/ claims is going to be laid off at the barn? It’s getting really old that no one can tell us anything, yet I’m almost certain someone knows something I mean it just seems weird to me.

There were three or four managers let go at the end of April and then six or so agents let go in June. I think the reason they gave the managers was efficiencies and I assume the agents were low performers but I don’t know for sure. I think one of the agents was remote.

We are waiting you out. We are going to make you feel hopeless and eventually quit, some of you will, some of you won’t. We will save money this way.

You said a few of the collections folks were let go recently? Was there a pattern to who was laid off? I assumed they'd let the whole group go at once. Like were they managers, remote workers, people with low or high tenure, low performers?

Cracking up over how you guys have quickly accepted "the barn" in this thread :-D

There are so many people with crazy tenure in that building that I'd bet they're playing chicken with y'all. Like there are people in collections alone who have 20 years of experience, not to mention the other random folks in the building (issue management, OET, fraud...). That's a huge payout for the company. Maybe they really will wait until the last minute. I know of some who left rather than waiting around.

If you can keep yourself somewhat sane, wait out that severance. However, if you see a job opportunity that doesn't come around often and that you're a perfect fit for, I'd say go for it. Job market is a little flooded right now for mid-level in finance.

  • laid off in February from the Barn

Second floor livestock from the Barn here also feeling like HR forgot about us.
They have enough people in collections in other locations that I cannot imagine they need us but the last time some of us were let go was a month ago.
I like to think that we’re all just such high quality that they don’t feel safe cutting us yet.

Yea for real what is going on at the barn. Anyone know when they are finally going to let downstairs go I.e. non fraud claims and disputes just sitting here day after day is so frustrating especially when no one will even tell us anything.
