I think we've seen the best days of Cisco and whatever comes next will not be good. If there ever was a time to start looking for a new job, it's now. The job market is not ideal but it's not as bad as some believe. I'm having trouble finding good remote options but I did run into a few. I'm in no rush to leave, but I have no intention of staying here long term.

The good ol' days of Cisco are long gone. Back in the mid-late 90s when the company was hiring exponentially, the stock split every 6 months, all employees including the mail room clerk got stock options, and morale was high - all before the company's first layoff in April 2001.
If you have large responsibilities this is not the place.
