Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Everyday I feel down

I am an mid-senior professional, joined BNY 5 months ago. I feel I have done a mistake joining ths company. At the same time dont want to be explaninng to next companies as to why I hopped job too soon. Having said that, I dont think I can last 2 years in this stinking, inefficient, Bootlicking work culture. Do you think I should quit and go back to be happy elsewhere.

I would respectfully disagree. I know you mean well. But someone who also joined and realized within weeks this was nearly corporate su----e, every year passes by miserably.. I am an experienced professionally and have seen a fair share of big names to conclude: for me this has been the worst.
I've had to resort to therapy and false pep talk to count my days in corporate imprisonment.
My free advice: if you can - jump out. I am looking fervently, have thought of pulling out the plug but I have a big weight as my Achilles heal that make job hopping a tad bit challenging.
But of the interviews I have taken: ppl know what a latrine of a place this is

@1gnu Seems to me OP is the toxic employee “ stinking, inefficient, Bootlicking work culture.”
Are you the OP? If not, maybe the two of you need to huddle up and cry together?

People like you are the reason for the toxic culture in this company. You must be loving it in BNY. Good luck.

I'm calling BS on OP being a level M manager. Not even BNY would hire someone with this level of writing skill at that level.

I took a job years ago and knew within two weeks it was a mistake. I stayed, in misery, for a full year. If you know it isn’t a fit, no need to stay two years. I think it shows more maturity to say you aren’t a good fit than to stay in a bad fit.

Recently hired M grade that writes and whines like child. While intelligent, dedicated staff are displaced. Smh.
