I wouldn't be surprised if the take rate is low. Poor economy, poor job market and an election year make for a lot of risk/unknowns if you aren't close to retirement age. If you feel confident in your current role (is anybody?), then perhaps worth staying and riding out the RIF. It makes for some stressful times.
I have been hearing that the take rate for VSP is relatively low at 5% to 6%. Either people are waiting to click the button or it will remain low. If that's the case then there will definitely be a sad RIF coming for a whole bunch of people. Since the VSP wasn't offered to all mgmt since other groups were excluded then the take rate is def too low. If you of older age or maybe your job has changed or you have moved around a lot recently then you should be concerned. It is easy for them to justify cutting these people and calling it a talent refresh.
Anyone with their heart in the company is foolish. As far as numbers I think they'd like to see about 10,000 accept, which is actually over 5% higher than the 2018 VSP. We'll know soon enough if they are happy and if not, the RIFs will follow. They will meet whatever their numbers are one way or another.
Make RTO a mandate. Those that don’t come in get laid off and then see what your numbers look like. Plus you don’t wanna rif someone whose heart is in the company.
What are the numbers? If they sent VSP notices to 30,000, how many of those have to go?
if rumors are true, they occur in October. I've heard this from two people. and another who said q4, which could also be October.
Numbers are numbers and they will get them!
Yep...they are going to get their numbers one way or another.....so if you have any inkling at all...take the VSP.
