Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

LOB or Enterprise? Which is safer from layoffs?

Just curious what others view as a safer environment from layoffs, an enterprise function role or an LOB role. Pros and Cons to both. Feels like enterprise groups are seeing a bigger impact these days. Thoughts?

Really depends on the LOB, but on the ent side, yeah, COOs only role here is eliminating US workers so don't go thinking that that group is anywhere close to safe unless you work in I&P.

It’s not LOB, it’s who you lick and su-k. You lick and su-k right people you are safe. It’s all politics.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near tech these days unless you are in India

You have a job for life in operational risk. Don’t need any special skill, experience or knowledge required either.

My experience is it depends on the type of LOB. Usually LOB is safer if it's a rising LOB. Pre pandemic, being in Mortgage LOB was much safer than Enterprise, but these days it's the opposite.
