So, once you’ve decided to take the vsp, how do you stay motivated to work?

Oh that's easy. I went into work with a smile everyday. No matter what s?&? my manager pulled it didn't matter. All Vz nonsense is temporary. The fools that remain on the ship will have to deal with the aftermath. I imagine this is how the last few days of prison before parole.

I had always strive to achieve and accomplish more than what was expected of me every day. After my director sent a group email to 30+ member team insinuating that I am a racist, then the motivation was gone. The last three months with Verizon while awaiting the VSP end date, he refused to speak with me. The deals I worked on would take an average of two months from start to finish and he would not allow me to review any. I decided to take online classes for certification and prepare for the Verizon after life and away from id--ts such as this director. The humorous part to me is the email he sent branding me was on a Tuesday. The weekend prior I played golf as I did most weekends with my close Asian and Black friends and met two friends in the City for dinner that are from Palm Springs before they attended the g-y and sober cruise. Haha, and this id--t continues to work for Verizon.

Start cleaning out your laptop. Delete anything personal. Print out old reviews and paystubs.

At this time VSP feels like a retention payment to me. The company is letting me go but I have to be here till 9/13 working.
Want me on the office two days a week? Sure I’m in the office 2x a week for 8 hours so I can hate the office and not my house. Otherwise I’ll WFH for 8 good hours and not do much more. If I need to work extra I’ll do it for comp time and when I take a half day or full day I’m off not playing catchup. No working weekends. Like it should have been all along but it never was.

Knowing that you still get fired before your end date. I took the last package and there were people who were let go prior because they stopped doing their job. Just work until the end because you'll lose the VSP if you're fired before your last day.

For some it just plain old work ethics
And pride in their work. You pay me for 8hrs I’ll give you a good 8hrs.

If a single leader cared about me I would stay. I will be as committed to them as they are to me.

Use VZ resources to learn stuff? Yeah that isn’t a reality for most. They wouldn’t pay a few dollars for access to training or tools while I was here they certainly aren’t when I leave. Hopefully we get access to the offboarding when they confirm if we get to go.

For now I am trying to help a few people who are leaving and some who are staying with stuff. I’m certainly not going to work alot of unpaid overtime like I used to.

No matter how much I document or prepare things people will do what they want and how they want to while blaming me the whole time because that is just the way of things.

@lww+1txDbwbf I echo this. I had a good run and I don’t want my name dragged through the mud when leaving. Leave on a good note. Work on what matters for the people that are staying behind to pick it up and don’t put too much emphasis on proving out to management. Help the ones stuck behind.

For me, it is pride and wanting people to think “dang, losing her was such a huge hit to the business.” Silly, I know. But I want to feel like I mattered here.

You don’t! Can’t you use up your vacation days so you don’t have to be there?

Per our manager this won’t be difficult for our VSG Director here in the South. He has been a ghost even when he had the store channel. Can’t happen soon enough.
