Pay check question

If I resign in the middle of a pay period, will my next check be a full check and the next check will be for the partial period that I worked?

For example: if I resign on Friday July 19, will my check on July 31 be a full check and the check on August 15th be the partial from July 15-19?

@OP

I always advise asking about HR benefits here on the layoff board instead of asking the HR experts. It’s much more dramatic…

Let us know how it goes…

What HR? And I mean that seriously. Everytime there seems to be a problem where HR would be needed, there are ZERO humans available to speak with. The chat that goes on in the portal is useless and simple questions or problems that could be solved in a 3 minute phone call stretch over weeks because of all the nonsense and inability to effectively communicate. If there is an actual way to talk to someone in HR, I'd love to hear how!

@mdy

There is an HR portal jackwagon. But they all work from home permanently and it can take weeks to get a response on the simplest things.

Submitting letter of resignation on July 19th or that is your last day of work? Either way, I agree with the previous 2 responses. My paycheck for 6/1/24 - 6/15/24 was issued on 6/14/24 (6/15/24 was a Saturday date so issued 1 day early). I got my layoff notice with last day of work 6/21/24. My paycheck on 6/30/24 was for the partial period.

I do receive separate payments from the supplemental unemployment benefits plan but that won’t apply to you because you are resigning.

Look at your last paycheck for the answer…..

Pay is real time, meaning if your last day is 7/19 your check on 7/31 will be for 7/16 - 7/19. Over-time pay would be on the next check, 8/15.

I think if you resign on the 19th, your pay on the 15th would be for the first half of the month. Your pay at the end of month would be partial for the 15-19th. I don’t believe the paychecks are a pay period behind like your question poses.

If you still worked here 42. You would know that there is no HR… You can’t get a hold of anybody.

It’s pathetic

I always advise posing these questions to Internet Randos and pick the response which you like best rather than asking HR.
