ITT lots of pi$$y scrum masters
Mature teams don't need a scrum master. Some groups are talking about removing the role.
Wells Fargo is wagile.
OP clearly you haven't worked with Product and the Project Managers they have hired to try and waterfall the agile. Talk about worthless. There is so much waste it's unreal.
Agile and Scrum was always going to fail at WF. Having TK at the helm was going to guarantee that it would fail. She has no experience and no understanding of what it takes to make it work. She and others including the Agile “experts” and Scrum” experts” were in over their heads because they were never successful at any organization that thought they wanted to implement it.
Until Wells Fargo moves away from Agile methodology like other corporations have.
@1pxk+1ty2rlzQ and @1ncw+1ty2rlzQ. Are you talking about SM at Wells.. or other places? In other places, the project manager is the SM. At Wells, there are managers and SM. 1 This is one of the reasons Agile is failing at WF -- duplicating management. The management at Wells is too lazy to learn how to be an SM.
Scrum masters make $175 in HCOL like SF Bay Area. Senior Engineers only make $170. What a life!
Sc-mmasters?
You can't always blame scrum masters or product owners. I have seen many lazy Indian developers who are ruining tech projects. They don't want to come to daily scrum calls, always late for the meetings, don't show up for the meetings, always make excuses to leave early, always late for the deliverables, and always have too many defects. Indian developers are not quality oriented like the US developers, they don't have the same level of commitments like the US developers.
Agile here is just waterfall in disguise.
D-mb job.
Scrum masters in HCOL like SF Bay Area makes $175k can you believe that? Senior Engineers only make $170k. $175k for using jira, what a life!
Job security for a very limited time…at least in tech they announced several years ago that the goal was to have self-sustaining teams and scrum masters would transition away as the model matures…but enjoy while it lasts…honestly I still have my cert. but transitioned from that role several years ago and the newer ones they provide to ‘guide’ us are clueless.
@xve+1ty2rlzQ, most scrum masters don't make that much. Average scrum masters at Wells Fargo make around $110K to $120K.
I have been a part of many agile projects and I want to provide my observations. I have seen many scrum masters and product owners not getting along. There are a lot of conflicts between those two roles. POs think they are the boss and tell SMs what to do and how to do things, which is incorrect. According to the agile principle, there is no hierarchy on agile teams. POs, SMs and Developers are supposed to be all on the same level. But in many cases, POs are bullying SMs and pressuring Developers to make the deadlines. That is wrong. But SMs are supposed to be a servant leader, so they are not allowed to argue with POs. My point is, Wells Fargo is still pushing the politically toxic environment as always and hindering positive results.
It's a great job for a pea brain!
I know a scrum master hired by his friend.. and gets paid $165K in the Dallas, TX area..
Scrum Master (Of Puppets)
When I was forced to leave WF what they needed were requirement engineers or business analysts. I never saw any specs. I never saw any product owners or product designers. Agile, or Wagile, or agile-not, was the practice. It was fun to see the Teflon facilitators shed off the agile effort.
Wow! How much does Scrum Master get paid?
My scrum master is useless and undermines productivity. Please fire them and give me another engineer!
Totally agree! They need PO to make all decisions for them… you tell me, I will do it.
