Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D9 & D3 are close to bargaining enjoined at the same time

D9 West, has been working and negotiating without a contract since April.
D3 SE contract is set to expire at midnight on August 3. Only 17 days left!

Hmm, I wonder what is about to happen? It appears the Stankey labor team is trying to enjoin both districts. Guess both will be bargaining together in the future, once there is a settlement, thanks Stankey.

Batter up contingency force, get your bags packed, popcorn and drinks ready, those “training videos” are a snore-fest. If you do have to dispatch you are supposed to be off the yard In fifteen minutes also, It’s really hot in attics and crawl spaces so, carry and drink plenty of water. Stretch before starting your first job, don’t want anyone to strain, pull or break something. Always use three points of contact when climbing, don’t want to see any serious injuries. Don’t forget, you are just placeholders until an agreement is ratified, sorry that Stankey and the c suite have put us all into this situation.

It may have delayed some layoffs so, I guess there is a silver lining in that. Good luck to all and a fair agreement with no givebacks.

Union dummiez. D9 will have a TA before the D3 contract expires. It’ll be voted down once and then ratified. D3 will sc--w around for a month or two and probably have some little grievance and ULP strikes, then they’ll announce a TA. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Union can’t afford big strikes anymore. Members live beyond their means due to cadillac provisions and the measly strike funds would be depleted rapidly (for those that don’t know, if strike is called and members don’t picket, they don’t get strike pay).

We all know what is about to happen. Same as every contract. increased insurance premiums, other benefits reduced, small raise that barely covers the raise in premiums. Just more give backs, same as every single contract for the last 35 years.

“…. the company appears to want a work stoppage so, it may be a longer stoppage this time vs. last contract.”

Don’t give them the satisfaction of saving millions everyday. Keep showing up. Hit them where it hurts, in the pocketbook.

Pfft! Yeah the company saving millions stopped us walking last time! small wage increases, reduced or eliminated benefits don’t have any long term effects, get a clue!

I remember we had an unfair labor practice stoppage August 24, 2019. Was out 3 or 4 days. Won’t be long now, a week or two off this time would be nice, a month even better.

D3, strike vote ballot was sent out so, check your e-mail or mailbox, time is short with the contract expiring in a little over 16 days. Get with your Local officials for mobilization efforts and any other questions you have. We are trying to bargain in good faith but the company appears to want a work stoppage so, it may be a longer stoppage this time vs. last contract.

Fight for more in 24!

Don't worry yourself about what the Union gets. Worry more about where you job is going. You threaten, yes, you do. You call us Union slugs, GED ETC.
Your job is going going overseas to Satish and friends.
It su-ks for you. It su-ks for you and your family, your mortgage, car note and all the other bills you overextended on.

BYE.

Nothing to worry about. You will not be here when the contract is finalized. RTO and Stankey's debt will make sure of that.
I didn't cause this nor did the Union. Might want to find out who placed AT&T into over 125 Billion Dollars in debt.

It has been Att leaderships quiet stance to play hardball with the union this go around. They never intended to give a good contract. This is the one they are standing their ground as long as possible. Will be very interesting to see how this goes down. I think we’ll do ok or walk but something’s going to be given up. My guess for d9 is a reduction in severance payments they are much higher than D6 like 4x higher. We shall see everything’s on the table it’s all just chess pieces with each piece being $100 million so the stakes are high and the fight is worth it. They need the technicians badly but not as many IMO. They want to contract out too.

I saw the Teamsters Union President speak at the Republican Convention yesterday, winds of change are afoot, everyone is getting tired of jobs being off-shored or contracted out for the elite.

Sounds good to me, let’s get it started. Can’t wait, inflation has been ki-ling our standard of living, we need COLA added and a larger than normal wage increase.
