Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WEC Winston-Salem Location

Any news as to when the WEC building will start layoffs for CB? NON core location and will eventually close.

WS is closing in 2025, by closing I mean all employees gone save for a small support team. Count on it.

Ain't no servers pushing back S. I know people that got termed there in the last round for "location strategy". Obviously they aren't terming everyone on the same day, but the process has started. Will a few people be around to deal with the servers? I guess. But everyone else will be gone. It's over folks. Just like Jacksonville, Portland, Columbia, Boise and a ton of other locations.

It is not closing in 2025. The lease was extended to 2028. There are servers there getting refreshed because of the change in schedule. I don't know what this means for employees.

Data center remains but no one else, with the exception of support team. I have a handful of people there, so that’s what I was told earlier this year.

I keep hearing a lot about WEC, does the Silas data center follow what happens when WEC closes?

The WEC datacenter is not closing in 2025 that was moved to late 2028. So the question is if the building itself is staying open 4 more years, does that delay the location strategy timeline for WEC employees? Or are they planning to empty the building and only keep support staff to maintain the mainframes/servers they need to support until 2028? It makes no sense to have a building full of people be displaced or given the option to keep their job but drive to another building in Charlotte. I know a lot of folks at WEC are hoping the delay to 2028 pushes back the location strategy timeline and they can stay the duration.

What is left in the center building? The local paper recently reported that the "bulk of [WF's W-S] workforce is in the downtown Wells Fargo Center, primarily its wealth management division." Is that accurate?

It cannot come soon enough. 4th quarter is a horrible time to look for a job.

I have lost track of how many times I have posted this … Winston is closing in 2025. I have had to displace 8 from that location and was told by our sr. HR bus partner that it is closing. Could not even get an exception for one of my remote employees who lives near there, so he’s driving to CIC.
