In exchange, work as little as possible, take as much as you can, and always search for other jobs. In this day and age it’s silly to try to prove yourself in a workplace. Hard-workers can be gone as fast and easy as someone acting as a beach goer. How many competent, dedicated and helpful people do you know who were actually rewarded for being what used to be a model employee?

To avoid the stench of the workplace focus on YOU. Upskill yourself, learn AI (prompting, coding, reverse engineering, automation, etc).
This is the definition for quietly quitting: "work as little as possible, take as much as you can, and always search for other jobs".

That's how typical managers control and abuse staff employees. In order to stop their abuse, all executives and managers should have term limits.
"work as little as possible, take as much as you can" sounds exactly like every product corporate America sells.
