Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

LR in UKI

Folks get ready. This is coming. The VP, SE Directors), MD...all have asked for names from respective team managers. Heard from the SED himself. Some mid-managers are also affected from what I hear. Last February cull will appear a "bandaid" case in comparison to this blood bath.

Embrace the mantra: "Change is the only constant". Hope that helps.

They won't do volunteer LR's - 0% chance. If they did half the company would apply and of those a bunch will retire early with the package or leave on Friday and be working at a competitor on the Monday.

This situation happens every several months because Robbins is the prime example of an ineffective leader. He hires the wrong staff at ELT, continues making awful acquisition decisions that drain resources both in people and monetary, builds the wrong products and features for the market, expends energy on social narrative efforts with no contribution to the bottom line and have lost the confidence of Wall Street.

This is why the layoffs are a constant cloud over the heads of the staff.

Give me a break with this UKIE drama. You are not special. Everywhere else it's more or less the same.

"I'm happy to get volunteer and take the payout. This whole LR merry-go-round is just exhausting. Anyone miss working at a grown up company that just gets stuff done?"

Absolutely bang on dude. How can Cisco aspire to have a motivated workforce when there are mass LRs every six months and no one is ever sure if they will be here come fall/holidays with an ever increasing workload and target and less resources? Oh, I just remembered, best place to work right? A shell of a company, long past its prime, living on glories past and reputation long since gone and being run into the ground. Whilst everyone else is doing AI and making fortunes Cisco is still at PPT and vaporware stage wondering how to engage with this technology. Cisco misses every single industry mega trend these days. I'm awaiting a LR, hopefully, to retire early and get off this pathetic carousel.

According to insiders, all UK employees impacted will receive Lipton tea as part of their severance package.

@zwz+1tzrtnkB
It is obvious some EN leadership have an agenda against specialist orgs
One would argue these are legacy managers with no clue about the front lines now
I don't blame the AMs (yes some are useless some are great) I blame the toxic forecast culture the emphasis is on the number not proper discovery or X selling

ELT has been targeting specialist teams for years, in part because the local account teams go out of their way to claim credit and bask in the glory of deals where the PSS's provided the crucial edge. The account teams take the specialist teams for granted -- but, unfortunately, AM's and most SE's have very low competence in competitive fights where deep knowledge is essential. They spend their time sitting on forecast calls, editing quotes, and asking partners for their commit for the week. Cisco will take a nosedive in competitive situations when the specialists are gone...

Well, it was a good run.

Package with all components equates to about 7-8 months basic salary.

Cisco management has to start Learning from other companies which is doing it's worst in Financials and Firing Employees to cover the Tracks

@uqc+1tzrtnkB they need to remove useless channel overlays
PAM
DAM
SAM

In all fairness what do these do

If they eliminate overlays then company will tank in those logos. It is impossible for account teams to explain and fight off competition in the immense portfolio without overlay specialists in those areas.
