And yet another avenue to make you miserable at work, and preferably leave without bother and cost. They don’t care about the impact of any of that cr-p and gaslighting on your health. Once they target you for cuts/attrition/whatever by using PIP, you can try to ride it out if you have nerves of steel and can make anything they say or do wash off of you.

This is a really simplified way to define PIP.
EM systematically empowering Supervisors and Managers to fire people of their choosing.
Disguising the firing as performance based is just a shield from lawsuits as no person that I have seen get NSI was measurably worse at the job than coworkers and all were measurably better in their job than the Supervisor that communicated the NSI to them.
@1ktg Congratulations! The toxicity of EM isn’t worth it. Hope you and your family are in a better place, and you only visit this site to watch the slow demise of a once great company (and encourage ex-coworkers to jump ship)!
@1kfn+1tzziFXn actually… I left. Blind side PIP and I was gone, never even went back to the office. My mental and physical well being had been declining for years, and I had to get out. Left the table after 22 years, 4 years from 55. Just wasn’t worth it anymore. Within a week, I had moved my entire family out of the he-l hole that is Houston in late July. Sayonara!
@OP They can fire you at no cost. As long as the reason isn’t due to some protected status, they can fire you for any reason (or no reason), and there’s probably nothing you can do about it.
If they’re hoping people will leave because of these silly little games then they’re wrong. Nobody is walking away from $200k+ a year base with full benefits, no matter how miserable you make them. They’re going to have to do a mass layoff if they really want people gone.
