I can’t stop thinking about the potential layoffs and find myself checking this site more often than I’d like. Since Friday, I've struggled to stay focused, but perhaps my mind is subconsciously bracing itself for the challenges ahead . The uncertainty is stressful, but I’m beginning to mentally prepare for whatever comes next. While I wish none of you face layoffs, seeing some of you face this uncertainty with courage gives me strength. Good luck to all my dearest friends and colleagues

Cisco is in transition to a higher margin software business that requires less resources and won’t require legacy routing/switching resources long-term. If you aren’t in an investment area, you will be a casualty eventually.
Get off this board asap and get to work
Fran is at the hairdresser and then has to plan her next "Save The World" tour (with her entourage), while we can't even travel to Customers.
But despair not ! - You will get a full report at a Beat, as there won't be any other news of substance to report.
I have mixed feelings about the entire story. After some good years spent with Cisco I am sick of what this place is. Facing abusive clients, weekend and night implementation windows, incompetent managers and silos within the team, vip like team members who think that they and what they do are the center of the universe and so on.
On the good side, there are a lot of competent people, in other teams, who fly way above this layer of mediocre "vip" people. You can learn a lot from them but what is the point? You realize that value and inovation wont be appreciated.I am not an exceptional talent but I have seen people who are and they cant ascend to higher positions becaus of an establishment like group of people who control everything. Besides that Cisco is starting to lose markets and it is more and more difficult to find jobs when you specialize in a specific Cisco technology. All these have became toxic and I would feel sorry if they dont kick me out. Even more about what they are doing now. I did not want to leave like a month ago but then I started asking myself if I want to live with this for the comming years. Stress and frustration could lead to mental and physical problems.
Too bad employees have to come to this site for info since Chuck & Fran just don’t care to communicate
most layoff will be in the bay area.
