This time it's pivot to AI. Problem is it takes I to build AI and Cisco's exec team is way short on I. It's just the latest shiny object the exec team is throwing at investors to explain their layoffs. Layoffs reduce expenses, EPS increases, investors think it's due to AI. What a grift.

If you’re close to retirement then hang on for a package. If you’re early in career get the fu-k out, you shouldn’t need to be tolerating the sh-t you get from Cisco for the comp you get in return for it. Your career is fu---d at Cisco so get the he-l out.
Just another Cisco layoff to “restructure around key growth opportunities…”
Sooner or later investors will wise up and realize mgt has no clue what they are doing. AI? Cisco has no clue about AI. They know if they put something out there and mention it, it will help the stock, but what exactly have they delivered? Worthless execs around the BU’s, exec management, etc.
JC managed decline when he worked for Wang. It’s inevitable at a high tech company. Sad but here we are. One reason I’m happy I got laid off in 2015; I would have stayed if they’d have let me and I’d be unemployable at this point.
Chuck and Fran have been milking a dying cash cow for almost a decade.
The AI fairy tale is just the latest handwaving to distract from their strategy of managed decline. The constant layoffs are just a way to remove higher cost employees because Chuck and Fran aren't capable of creating growth.
They've shaved thousands of dollars of cost per employee over that decade. The loss of talent is an afterthought as the cash cow has been commoditized. Employees literally are just fungible costs to be eliminated.
If you like the work you're doing and are getting paid well for it, you can still have a short run at Cisco. If you're unhappy, it's not going to get any better.
dont forget all the tailwinds....just tailwinds right up the a^^
"pivot to AI" is a good hint that a company doesn't understand much about technology.
both on our buyer side and our management.
