Union

I understand it’s a business but why don’t all employees go union? Yes you have union dues but how safer would it be? Sales reps are protected, everyone else is day by day. We all see how the company panics when the word “Union” is mentioned

I belonged to a union at one time, and they didnt do squat for me, except take money out of my pocket. I have done far better in my career bargaining and negotiating for myself. Im sure unions still have a place, just not my place.

Wake up the union only helps the sh_t employees. The last 2 times our contract was up we actually had work. New York state was leveling fines against Verizon for all the double woods we have. We had fiber work. Both of which, someone with even a little common sense would realize that this gave us leverage. So what did the union do, let’s sign a cr-p contract extension both times. You can keep the union, but then I am not afraid of worke

Recognize that all Verizon outsourcing is to countries that Vz either has no revenue generation or very little and often are blocked by in country regulations preventing competition in wireless. If a union does nothing else, the can stop the outsourcing of US Jobs to India, Ireland, Philippines, other.

Union only looks out for the problems. I like earning my salary which I earned and having a lazy coworker that skates by while I do my best is unacceptable. I started in the union and left it because the union doesn't even allow you to go above and beyond. Have an idea? Union says to ki-l the idea, not your job. So thanks but no thanks. I find dumping my hard earned money into a hole called union dues so that the union can protect nutty, lazy, trouble makers, and at times criminals is not ok with me. I'll keep my high level paying engineering job without a union. I have managed well for myself for the past 22 years without it. Stop the fear mongering.

Are you kidding me ???? The UNION has now become USELESS. They only bargain benefits away. Haven't got cr-p from the union for the past 15 years. Waste of $1300 a year. They su-k.

Union single handedly ki-led Verizon.
Wireline world is a great business, look around with companies managing in-building networks, datacenter buildouts, factory buildouts, stadium buildouts. there are companies that thrive in designing and engineering this niche delivery space.
Only reason Verizon sold to Frontier was labor/union issues.
more and more VBG selling wireless connectivity in name of quicker delivery is wireline truck roll costs (last mile hitting union).

I spent over 20 years in the union before getting out. As I look back on my experience in the union, it was repressive, fed fear, and discouraged growth. While I'm grateful for what the union offered me at a very young age, I wish I had gotten out sooner and I'd never go back. Its a very demotivating environment.

I don’t have a problem with unions in general my issue is with the union that keeps trying to get us the sign up. That union is absolute garbage. If a different option was available I would sign up.

As a 39 year union member, It may be the Communist nature of unions as a whole.
Watching the equity of outcome as a percentage retire in place puts a bad taste in some people’s mouths. To each their own in the end. The leadership might be shocked how many do not vote the political persuasion they bow to. The irony being most are in the 10% percentile that pay he lion’s share of taxes in this country.
