I understand that the lease for WEC has been extended to 2028. Does this imply that WS employees will be kept on longer? I am hearing as much. I also notice that the parking lot seems to be getting more and more full.

They will contract out the support for the servers. No need to pay an engineer 165k+ to unplug a rack
Does this 2028 timeline apply to all legacy data centers, or just this one?
I think the people in p1 came from Linden. They exited that building last year. Maybe WFC wasn't ready to wholesale layoff them all off then.
The cafeteria remodel could have been at the behest of the landlord. They'd want it to be as marketable as possible. It could also have been a small price to pay to give us WECers some bread and circus to stop the complaining.
Why bother to remodel the cafeteria or move people in P1 if the plan is to close?
@1umd+1u2RwK1z they'll need the handful of data center management people to unrack and decable the remaining servers and haul them out for destruction.
But there won't be a need for the people currently on p1, 1, 3, or 4.

Have posted about Winston a lot since I HAD employees there. 2025 confirmed. Everyone gone at some point in 2025, I wouldn’t count on end of year, as they are generally moving faster than that.
Nope. Only the data center is extended to 2028. They won’t need any employees to modify the data center or do the upkeep since it’ll all be remote. Everyone will be gone by the end of 2025.
