Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Next week LR for VP, Directors and Sr Managers - confirmed

Reason for delay is first management need to go, teams consolidated, and then axe falls on ICs to sort this out. Very indigenous and stressful times ahead figuring this out on the fly which team stays or go, with poor planning. The list may already be done but not shared until top layer is eliminated. Could have delayed to Feb 2025, but NO, Wall Street must know the good news ASAP. Remember 700-800 millions allocated to LR in FY25-Q1 that ends Oct 25! Rest for executives to run out in FY 2025. Half of ICs will depart on their own, saving company lots in severance.

One billion in AI investments is coming from savings from next year after laying off and spending exactly one billion this FY. Financial engineering at best.

"indigenous"???

OTOH, if they are making a big cut to VPs and Directors that'll eat a lot of the LR dollars. Maybe then just a handful of normal folk.

? it would make rather sense if first line managers take decision on IC‘s and afterwards higher managers take decisions on the very useless first-line-managers and directors.. why Cisco has so much useless first line managers??

Fake news!
After all IC axed, then this protected layer of useless class will be notified. I am doubt if any of them will be impacted just as past few years. They are protected !

If leadership is axed first, who makes the decision to axe ICs?

I really hope this is true. Too many VPs, Directors and Senior Managers have been coasting for too long

Half of ICs will depart on their own, saving company lots in severance.

This is irrational.
