Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Laptop Question

I worked in CT. It's going on 90 days since I left and they still haven't send me a box or message to pickup my laptop. At this point I suffer mental trauma everytime I look at it. I have a new remote job at the same rate as inspiration for all of you. Maybe they think I'm coming back with the 3 month cool off.

My question is - has this happened to anyone else, or what should I do? I no longer want to suffer, due to TK and SH worthless 1.2B dollar software company. It seems nobody there can find there way out of a paper bag and all they do is promise things that never come.

I just made it sound like mine had top secret information on it or something - they were pretty quick about sending over the boxes -

My WF offer letter/contract stated that upon job termination I had to return all WF equipment. I would contact HR and have them send you the box and labels to return your equipment. You should also check your original offer letter which you agreed to and signed.

When I got 'tossed', I messaged, and got boxes for my cr-p. Stayed in constant contact and even got UPS receipts when I sent it and got confirmation of receipt...

a cheap laptop and monitor were not worth jeopardizing my severance.

I made it through the rain....

Cheers!

This was years ago … my laptop was on the blink, got the blue screen of death. They sent me a new one. Day I got it my old one suddenly came back to life. Told Tech that but they said to keep the new one. Have repeatedly told my bosses about this, said to just keep it. I got displaced four months ago and told my boss and tech, no one cared. Laptop is still in the box in my extra room.

thanks everyone for your replies - I think I will put in a plastic bag out of sight and see how many months, years it takes. My manager is one of the good guys so I'd stick up for him. I sent my physical address to SH admin and copied my manager since they ask for it....crickets. Thanks everyone

PS - its greener on the other side, you don't have to suffer

MDT, managed disposal. Your manager was supposed to push a button, that pulls a lever, that causes a ticket to go to a 3rd party contractor to send you a box so they can list your laptop on eBay. Maybe that went to and old address, Maybe your manager is a doofus (I was assuming the Displacement Contractor would handle the device). If it's bumming you out throw it in a trash bag out of sight for a while, then maybe have a laugh years from now if they never contact you.

If you live near a site with Technology Connection you can ask the security guard to see them or just threaten to leave it in the lobby so that it's their problem. Take in into a branch, ditch it conspicuously in a high traffic area by a WF building, etc. It has asset tags - some boot-li---r will see it and "do the right thing maaaan" since this sh---y company sure didn't.

still WF property so best to get it taken care of. don't want them making trouble for you years from now when they realize you never returned it. I got a new laptop recently and after a couple weeks of not getting the return box I reached out the support person who I was dealing with and they put in the necessary request. box showed up a couple days later.

Fu-k all this “contact your manager” bullsh-t. They aren’t OP’s manager anymore and OP shouldn’t have to do fu-kall at this point.

Has anybody recently requested a new laptop (due to age or other issues) and were you approved for it? Or did they try to jam virtual desktop down your throat?

They swapped out my old PC for a laptop (which was a huge headache to get setup). It's been around 6 months since. They were supposed to send me a box for the old PC. Never came. Then I was instructed to give it to the 3rd-party vendor- one guy who hired to handle the work of our entire on-site HelpDesk team which got axed. Then he told me to leave it out on my desk and he would come by and grab it. Still hasn't happened

Just format it and keep it.

Let your manager know and ask them to send the box to you. Confirm your correct mailing address and personal email to be reached at. Once you have shipped the laptop back as per provided instructions, email the manager with shipping receipt and tracking information.

I would follow up with your manager. They were suppose to initiate a box to be sent to you.
