Nope, no one that is or would be laid off had a contingency. that was on purpose... if you got a contingency assigned earlier this year your job was safe through the year. if you didn't, well then, it wasn't.
A coworker got a contingency assignment... I didn't, so I got laid off on August 9... I got a 50% severance, while he is keeping his job but about to deploy to the middle of nowhere for who knows how long. So who really won in this situation?
