Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

RIP AppD, Collab & Wireless

They invited a bunch of us into a big 15 minute meeting right after the check-in call. Very impersonal. Anyone know the size of impact? I asked around and it's hard to see which groups had the meeting. I'm in sales.

Are you delusional or is this your first day working in collaboration? Growth is a word that is long gone. We used to be (legitimately) number one in every market category we played in and things were great! That was a decade ago and contact center is indeed a focus, yet irrelevant in the bigger picture. When I look at real time performance the combination of premise and cloud CC revenue don’t even hit the radar of leadership position due to poor performance and lack of strategy (no migration plan, weak feature set, etc.). Outside of Nice, Five9, Genesys and maybe talkdesk no one even talks about cisco contact center as a real contender and the lack of leadership is a major cause of it. Wake up

Collab should be cut. The software is slow and unintuitive. Utter rubbish.

  • There is no cutting in Collaboration. We are the growth engine with 20% growth. We are also growing on the contact center side.

Uhhh collab has not grown 20% in many years and will never again lmao!!! Folks there Will absolutely be impacted yet again. It’s obvious as when I look at the exec vitals portal and see our goal is (checks notes) anything that looks like it’s not decline, even 0% is cheered, how pathetic! And for anyone who has forgotten already; how did the last ‘go big’ hiring plan go in 2021? Oh right all of those people were axed already

Webex would like to have a word on Collab’s behalf - app is only 6GB in size.

Something Doesn’t add up. They said 350 get affected this week - and the rest almost 6k (assuming 7% of about 85K) would be in September.

Obviously can’t be all 6K in just these 3 units - wouldn’t add up at all. If it were they would have told us and we’d be, as holes that we are, go back to feeling bad for 10 minutes eating chocolate and sleep a little better tonight. Alas not to be.

85k employees stay awake till sep 16th and ELT goes to mourn their bonus checks (boo hoo) and cashing in their RSUs only this year.

| The whole AppD sales team, from top to bottom, was canned.

Not the SEs (mostly).

Collab grew 20%, so not sure why they'd be hit.

...Collab is not hit. Hiring more to meet growth.

They indicated a 7% reduction, which translates to about 6,000 employees. Originally, 350 were set to be notified before GSX, with the remainder in September. However, I'm now hearing concerning reports of a large number of people being affected today.

Were YOU affected? Presumably so, but I'm slow.
