Kodak was too big to fail
If Cisco wants to remain relevant, they need to do what Steve Jobs did at Apple in the 1990's.
Trim the fat, get rid of departments that aren't producing core products. Stop trying to be everything to everyone. Focus on core products only. All board members and ELT who do not share this vision need to be forced out.
Yes it will mean horrible LR's and massive restructuring but once the dust is settled, Cisco would be a much better company and more enjoyable place to work
To big to fail isn't real, but size can help hold over periods when competitors have a better product. The thing is, you actually have to respond to those competitors with a better product instead of shoving your head in the sand and insists you're actually better
Now, the issue right now is, Cisco is so small, very easy to fail at anytime.
Definitely not too big to fail. It can all go wrong very quickly, and it is doing. Another year and company is fu---d.
Nope.. its looking like a lot of these big tech companies are a lot more fragile than they think.
