About 20 years ago I received a RIF lump sum. I had 28 years and received lump sum of $400K along with 3 months pay with Medical insurance for life. Curious is this what is given out now. Thank you for your replies.

Seems like you had a pension and in management to get that lump sum. I knew of others with large payouts. So the answer is no for many as there is no pension system any longer, just 401k.

I don't think that person who received a RIF package was out of line. Can not blame him to ask a-s to compare what employees are given today.
