Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Ppl who quit or have been RIf’d- how long did it take for them to remove that phone discount?

Don’t say read the FAQ. I know what it says, but just wondering how quickly does that discount get auto removed? Next day?

I switched to Mint 15GB @$20/month/Line the day of separation. Much better 5G UW-level coverage, ~45% cheaper than I was paying for VZ’s cheapest Welcome Unlimited plan (no 5G UW) after employee discount, or ~75% cheaper without employee discount! This is why VZ is losing in the market - too expensive for the basic customer needs in coverage and speed. The money one saves could easily compensate for buying the bells and whistles outside the bundles.

2 days after I was RIF'd after 25 years with Verizon, I cancelled my and all of my families phones with Verizon and got on an AT&T family wireless plan, which with incentives, turned out to be cheaper than VZ, and we all upgraded to new iPhones as well. Verizon shows ZERO loyalty to their dedicated employees, and now my family and I will never use Verizon service again.

I was part of the may 30 rif, the week prior to the vsp announcement.

My last day on payroll was June 28 - bill that was due in July still had the discount. August did not.

So, effectively it took 1 bill cycle

If your budget is dependent on a paltry discount, maybe it's time to re-think your decision to retire.

When it retired it was gone by the next billing cycle. I immediately transferred my lines to T Mobile.

EPP discounts are automatically removed within 15 days after the end of the month of termination date. 2 year service end dates will be removed.

Does the discount stay for same length as the severance, or is the discount removed immediately?

Massimo: “Collectively we are rethinking and redesigning how we work as a team and with our partner organization.” Translation: they have no plan.

Massimo: “In the coming weeks there will more specific information as it pertains to changes in our organization.” Translation: fewer doing more, potential RIFF’s, consolidation, outsourcing, RTO, great times ahead.

Massimo: “Deliver the level of service our customers expect from us” Translation: don’t worry about broken outdated systems or the fact your team is short by three team members. While I’m jet setting to NFL games I know V Teamers will execute.

Many leaders are running for the exits. Evidently they know something we don’t.
