Level three about to be gutted (Legg)

Wave three relocation letters went out in early August. Directors were required to acknowledge whether they would move or not by August 16th and need to be in their new location by March 31st, 2025. Over 50% of Level Three said they wouldn't move. Seriously, good luck to everyone. The next 6-18 months are going to be bumpy.

“Level three about to be gutted (Legg)”

I believe it because for months I have noticed the most absurd phenomenon in my entire career: AVPs crawling out of the woodwork auditioning their relevance by attending program calls to demonstrate their worth. It’s a clown show on an entirely new level. Can’t make this $hit up. Always double check that I am muted on teams because I can’t stop laughing.

The AVP asks the spreadsheet scribe to start going down the list of tracking items. The scribe attempts to articulate the status of something they know nothing about. The dev manager then pipes up to provide more clarification, but needs the agile dev team to jump in and expound on the issue. They also help re-write the nonsensical description that the scribe had written down.
On to number two. Agile at its best. And kudos to the AVP for adding value.

Meanwhile there is one Director and Associate Director for every man, woman and child.
Then as we Agile dev team members bust our humps practicing real Agile, our id--t VP Mental Ward is handing down mandates on vastly expanded feature requirements. One day they tell us Agile is about minimal requirements and to run around chasing details from the Product Owner. Next they demand a booklet of detailed requirements like the good old days of waterfall. Make up your minds. This is what happens when id--ts are running the clown show.

Fire them all I say. Gut the whole thing and start over.

20 fg years ago they kept pointing out they had over 6k directors/GMs and that was way too many. All they focused on was reorgs , outsourcing , cutting IT

relocated to Texas from Illinois. No state tax in Texas, so this was my pay raise for the first year. Second year only 1%.

No increase for those moved to California. Hidden sc--w.

“Legg is chock full of level 3 individual contributors that are ripe for layoff. If HR looks hard enough, they'll find some level 3 and level 4 clowns that have been busy writing blank checks to Microsoft and covering for people that aren't following rto guidelines. somewhere in Rinat and Ward's areas”

Well, yeah of course they’re covering…because level 2 IC’s are the ones actually getting sh-t done (developers) and RTO is for id--ts.

Level 3 is due for some big trimming. These folks do nothing and rake big $$$. Like level 2 they should be forced out. They do not bring any value.

“ Time to layoff some level 2s, so directors can take a downgrade job”

I literally just LOL’d at the thought of my L3 trying to do my job (L2).

“chock full of level 3 individual contributors that are ripe for layoff. If HR looks hard enough, they'll find some level 3 and level 4 clowns”

They’re almost exclusively (grossly) overpaid gatekeepers protecting their fiefdoms (span of control).

It going to be bumpy for T. Stankey thinks he can survive by laying off people and cooking books. No innovation here. This old boldie has no clue what matters in modern business. He needs to go. He is the architect of this disaster along with his buddy Stephenson.

There was an organization that would have shed almost 70% of its entire workforce if they had to move when they started with the RTO and geographical stuff again. 70% - and that was not a 100% response, so it might have been higher. The result was the need to add extra locations to retain that workforce. It think this will continue to happen, and the company will keep trying, and it will continue to happen. There have already been several instances where someone moved (and the company did not pay for it) only to find out that they ended up getting cut soon thereafter. The company has zero loyalty to its employees which is one of the reasons why nobody wants to move. Plus, many people are established and rooted very strongly where they are. Rather that moving for a job, they'd rather simply find another.

"This RTO is just a way to CUT CUT but the debt is still there!"

Well, when you have a CEO that does not know how to grow revenue and only knows how to cut head count, that is what you get. Stankey will slowly get the debt down but he will not be able to increase the revenue. $40B in capex spent in 18 months and a decline in revenue YoY.

It’s insane to move for this company when they fail and flip flop on everything and no vision!!
It would be one thing if Att is Google or Apple or Amazon but they are not and never will be.
Not even a T-Mobile which is beyond sad
Yet we have the problem. Or the so called culture problem. This RTO is just a way to CUT CUT but the debt is still there!

It’s corporate wide, many are taking downgrades and maintaining their current salary but losing their 19% bonus and stock options. Other 1st and 2nd levels will be sacrificed to meet the payroll goals.

They could get rid if every director and all management above them, it would only have a positive effect.

I bet another 30%+ is just lying knowing they can skate past that March date.
