Short term disability question

Anyone know if we can get short term disability for anxiety at wells? I don’t have any previous experience with short term disability however the anxiety I’m experiencing working here is terrible.

Your anxiety must come from a source other than work for this to go through, though. Like someone passed away, or a spouse job loss, something like that.

The problem is though trying to separate those with anxiety and those just being a pu--y

Yes, but you should have a Dr and a therapist willing to document. I took ST at Wells for this and it was approved. If you don't have a Dr call the employee help line.

Yes, you can get STD for anxiety if your doctor fills out the appropriate forms and Lincoln signs off on it. BUT.....your doctor will have to be careful to document that the anxiety is not the sole result of work. Because then, Lincoln will say that it's not short-term disability, and instead, that it's workman's compensation and I can for sure tell you that workman's compensation almost never approves payment for anxiety. It/s a really, really high bar.

What is making you anxious when you work at this bank? Is your toxic manager/facilitator bullying you? Are you ignored when you get into the office? Do you think you will get laid off? Are you blamed for other "co workers" work or failure to serve? Are you ignored when you contribute to a scrum meeting? When you say something is so many story points and your manager says and convinces the group that the task is many less? When your new manager says that the systems that you have been maintaining for years is in the wrong language and that only fools and novices use that language?

Before meeting the doctor take a moment and go over all the events that are making you anxious. A little self diagnoses goes along way with the professionals. Wells Fargo has been known for years to be a psychologically unsafe place to work.

A personal leave is unpaid & only has to be approved by your manager. Not sure on all different types of leaves. It worth looking into. Wish you the best.

All depends if you can find a doctor that agrees

If your anxiety is only because of working at Wells Fargo, then no.

Depression and anxiety are definitely reasons people have gone out on leave.

Not saying your situation doesn’t warrant it but they are some of the more gamed reasons to go out on leave. Some doctors will seemingly sign off on anything.

Most likely no but you should try. It’s not decided by Wells Fargo, it’s approved or denied by Lincoln Financial. They are who pays you if it is approved.
