Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I’m secretly hoping to be laid off

Even more so every Sunday afternoon, when I already start dreading Monday morning.

Sunday scaries are a way of life for Wells Fargo employees. I totally get it. It’s not how it should be. WF s^cks.

I hear you OP. For a while I thought it was my area and my management that was the problem. Then when I found this site, I realized that the problems are more widespread. Between consent orders, Denise and the cover ups of other people, hiring practices, unethical behavior, and so much more, I don’t see how people can turn a blind eye.

If the board and senior leadership don’t change, there’s no point putting forth any effort to transfer. I don’t even tell people I work here. Every Tuesday after pay day, I wonder if I will get a call. Maybe we’ll both be lucky soon.

@1kbl+1uDZSo4r Everyone should be upskilling themselves. This does not mean just taking the "develop you" courses. JPM is teaching "prompt engineering" to 60K employees. Your future job is one in which you will either learn it or loose it.

Looking forward to it! I wish they’d hurry up and do it.

You may wish for it but there are a lot of us dreading it due to location strategy. Considering the job market and stress seems like a silly thing to wish upon yourself. Hopefully you’ll be the one that stays unemployed while those dreading it get the next job.

don't wish for that. i did and when it happened last tuesday, i regretted ever wanting this to happen. it is a hellish market out there with a plethora of people vying for the same job. thank God for the 60 day and severance...but enjoy your employment whilst you have it. it is really terrifying to not have a job.

Was displaced in the spring, still getting severance. Got a job about 3 months into severance and am double dipping. Company I work for is wonderful, but did take a cut of $25k a year. But negotiated 28 days of PTO and a small sign on bonus.
