Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Life after Layoff

My Spidey Sense is telling me they are getting ready to cut me (after 12 years) along with several of my peers as automation is beginning to eat many of the tasks we used to perform. I'm 56 and made pretty good money over the years. Also pretty frugal so not really hurting but not ready to put my feet up just yet.

I am thinking of opening a hot dog cart. What will (would) you do after getting bounced?

I am in the same boat, thinking I'm training a replacement, though I have some PTO and have a good amt of severance. I still worry, job market is not good. People I've kept in touch with took a long time to find work and they hit the pavement soon after being laid-off. I can't retire yet.

Was displaced in the spring and found a job three months into severance. So I am double dipping and will for the next five months. 57, so will work two more years and I am done.

Oh, and as far as dealing with it? I am still working through it...... because, I am still in the 'Glorious, I don't have to go to work' phase...

Cheers!

depends on how you feel. at 56 when I got whacked, I thought about my options and decided I didn't have to care, and my money guy had told me I didn't have to care either.

so, I didn't, and 'retired'.

hope this helps.

Cheers!
