Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford Acquires Canopy Security!

“Ford Motor Company has acquired Canopy, the trusted security solution for pickup truck beds. With Ford's commitment to advancing vehicle safety and security, they plan to leverage Canopy's resources and expertise to bolster security solutions for pickup truck owners. Collaboratively, our focus has shifted towards developing the next iteration of the Pickup Cam. As a result, the Canopy Pickup Cam will no longer be available for sale.”

Usually when Ford acquires a company there is a press release. I must have missed the one sent out for this “acquisition.” Apparently, Phoebe from the Freep didn’t get it, either.

Ford is buying back 100% of Canopy hardware and their CEO will personally come by to scrape the sticker off your window. For all five Canooy customers.

@3opi If you truly believe that, then you are part of the problem. If you want to increase the IT talent pool, go and hire back all the talent that was let go in the last 6 years and bring back all the work that was shipped overseas. I'm sick and tired of listening to the mouth breathing, coattail riding yes-men who have enabled all of the nonsense that has put us in this mess.

This is a good move to increase Ford's software and features/services talent pool.

Shhhh....shh...
We don't talk like that. Offer only applause when everyone else is clapping.
The failures will never be discussed. Take note of last town hall when a GSR asked about the cylindrical engine.

I can’t wait to see what the people responsible for this enormous waste of capital will be doing next. They should be looking for new jobs at a different company. Or will failures be rewarded with promotions?

I think PWH’s hours at the Freep were cut back to publishing only one press release from Ford per month. Tight budgets when subscriptions sell for $1 per month.

What's another billion in losses? We'll just cut more agency and gsr heads, it'll all balance out in the end.

That you Jim for weathering the storm and leading us thru these dark days.

As soon as the consumer buys our BS all will be great 👍👍👍

It will be interesting to see what they publish as the cost of this acquisition in the Q3 financial statements.
