Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Perception of those who have been laid off...

It's a really tough job market despite the news coverage. Oddly enough, highest profits ever by most F500 companies, yet most are doing a lot of under the radar layoffs. If you have been laid off, hiring managers think you were a low performer. It's crazy, after more interviews than I can count, I received two offers, one literally half my prior salary and the other over 30% less. Lets not even discuss the huge acceleration in offshoring jobs. Good luck people.

I was laid off in august. I was at Wells Fargo for over 16 years. I am so glad to be done with this toxic company. I never realized how unhappy I was until after they let me go. Fortunately I am in a good place financially and am not in a panic to find work. I haven’t decided if I even want another job. Wells has really turned me off to corporate culture and I’ll probably just take my skills and work for myself. Life is too short to be miserable at work.

That’s not been my experience. I’ve had many people congratulate me on getting out with a package. The WF sh-tshow and extremely poor leadership is widely known across all anll industries. They are getting rid of highly compensated and talented employees en masse and nothing to do with performance. Look for a position with a great company that aligns with your values and work your way back up to higher pay. You health and happiness is priceless. Leave this sh-tshow behind.

I have gone thru layoff three times in my career and my spouse twice. Each time we took a setback in compensation and built back up over the years. It's just the way it is... it's a tough pill to swallow that because you once were paid "X" you're somehow entitled to get that at your next job.. but a lower salary is better than no salary... Focus on picking the right company and the right job where you can contribute and flourish.

Despite the buzz that sometimes circulates, WF does actually pay well relative to the industry.

FALSE. There are plenty of things that are challenging, but this is not one of them.

Yeah agree with the post below, my network is all finding jobs quickly, but 90% of them are hybrid and they are all in Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston. Are you looking only for remote?

There are jobs available for those willing to consider actually going to work. Salaried WFH jobs with full benefits are getting a little more scarce.

Now that the Fed has inflation under control they are going to work on labor. All towards a soft landing.... What do you think?

You are a slave. You are a pleb. You will own nothing and be happy. Su-k your manager's schwanz or eat her coochie. Keep your miserable job at all costs. Go to the office and collaborate with the security guards.
