I just can’t anymore. All the way till November 24th? And we do not yet know how many people will be let go? The last round wasn’t enough? I wouldn’t be worried as much if the tech job market wasn’t a nightmare. Why would anyone think it’s easy to lose a job and even easier to find another one? It doesn’t matter how good, experienced or skilled you are. It stopped being about that long ago. If any of us were very young and very cheap, we would be ok. But we aren’t.

Just as an FYI, the friend from Security who didn’t get back to me (and whom I assumed was laid off and wanted to keep it quiet) is actually in the hospital.
I contacted his brother who told me he had a stroke. So 55 years old and had a stroke.
Take care of yourself and don’t end up like him.

I wouldn't stress out just yet, but I would start planning and getting prepared for the worst case scenario.
Forwarned is forearmed, as they say. It helps to be prepared in these times.
If an RA is going to happen and you are impacted, there little or nothing that can stop it from going through (That includes the case where Alvind kicks the proverbial bucket, and it couldn't happen to a nicer person than him, but the Pipmunks will be in attendance at the funeral pyre to see him off to He-l presumably).
Don't quit and don't sign anything if you are let go. Don't give up your rights until you talk to a lawyer. Get copies of all your HR records, you are entitled to them. Keep all records of strong performance, etc. Net - prepare for the worst, and pray for the best.
