Volunteers needed

1st round of VSP released. Everyone asked to do more with less. Work centers feeling the strain. Management asking for volunteers to travel and help out with storm relief.

Since most managers can’t do anything technical, and the markets are so short handed and still require technical skills to remain in market. They should send managers to tow generators and haul diesel fuel. Have them do some of the manual labor. Of course they will be required to use their hands for tasks other than phone calls and have to report into work more than twice a week. But just think of all the volunteer hours they can rack up. They might even feel better about taking their overpriced paycheck and inflated title.

and hurricane season doesn't end until the end of November.That is a lot of volunteers.

They probably can boost the sign up rate if there’s guarantee volunteers won’t be riffed in 5 years, or volunteers automatically get the enhanced severance package when riffed.
