Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What departments were impacted?

Not sure what departments were impacted? Multiple people are communicating a variety of departments ranging from inside sales to IT. I would just like to know which ones because big red doesn't send emails or announce anything. When L&D was impacted I knew because I had friends impacted and there was a call telling you what happened. I wish the company would let us know what departments so we could be mindful and understanding towards those departments but also so we can be educated as to what is happening with the business. So if you were or know which ones please advise. Thanks and sorry to those hit, it's terrible unless you wanted the money.

RIF's announced 09/25 with a 30 day timeframe. Last day on payroll is 10/26. Standard severance 2 weeks per year of service and prorated STI (if eligible). If you did NOT elect the VOLUNTARY option that was offered in July you are NOT eligible now. There is a difference in the two packages as well as eligibilities ( volunteers can never come back, RIF impacts can reapply at a later time, volunteer was 3 weeks per year/ RIF is 2 weeks per year).

Standard severance unless you were in VSP excluded group or officially denied VSP.

GTS (non-Value) was impacted.

For those that keep saying 'you should have taken the VSP' really need to keep their thoughts to themselves because you're just coming across as a jaded individual that didn't like their own job to begin with. Each person is different and made their decision on their.

Call center sales representatives is a department that needs to get rid of some people. Most of there jobs have been outsourced due to WFH. Now that most are refusing to RTO, a job they were hired to be at the office, now they feel entitled to stay home cause the commute is to much.

Clearly VZ HR carried on executing it, but do you think employees in VZ HR came up with this RIF plan (VSP -> Layoffs)? Wouldn’t there be some conflict of interest if they did?

@pbj+1uJYdPTf Digital messaging and the process analyst who were impacted are bascically and under VCG. They got the enhanced package (3 weeks per year). Basically anyone released from 9/24 - 3/25 will get the enhanced package unless they denied it during VSP period and then their job was riffed after.
