Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Product in Treasury Services

They need to do some serious house cleaning. I don’t see any benefit coming out of the Product team. They only post on linked in and speak at conferences. The real work is handled by the technology team. Product often reaches out to Operations , Onboarding, and Servicing to explain the product benefits and options to clients because they are simply mouthpieces with no substance or actual understanding about client needs and solutions. It’s sad really.

@1exz, those aren't BNY managers.
@1nfc, that was always my complaint. Even the liaisons would come to IT to ask how the system worked instead of trying it out themselves in lower environments. That's what happens when you force people "out of their silos" every 12 months.

The legacy Mellon company was far superior in many ways.

Signed,

A legacy BNY employee.

Mellon Treasury Services were the lead providers of Retail LockBox, Wholesale Lockbox, Custom private label corporate web sites. Triple delegation of duties to client banks and their clients. We surveyed clients and accepted their feedback and implemented great solutions.

Now we have a new era where no management even recalls, let alone understands, our Private Label customers.

Mellon should have Acquired BONY.

Yeah, but at least we have a really good DEI program!

Product decisions have been primarily made by technology for decades - It is not something new

Lack of leadership for several years. Started with Camp. Classic DEI hire.
